better name) tool remove both sides at the knuckle. Inspect both sides for wear. I had the inners go bad in a mustang long ago. My 200,000 mile Civic EX still has an original steering system. You will need to replace the boots for sure. A broken boot is what will destroy the inner joints if they have not suffered that fate already. Generally if they have no play along the push-pull axis, they do not need replacement. Check the outers for broken boots. When new these joints can hardly be moved by hand. If loose, well, you are in there already, replace them. Making marks on the adjustes, and taking measurements of the rod length and the tire distance will get you close enough in toe to run your tires to the end. If you have newish tires get an alignment.
